| Dower Cottage is a stone built, oak beamed cottage just outside the Roman Village of Leintwardine, set on a peaceful country road.
The cottage has magnificent views over the glorious unspoilt Shropshire / Herefordshire countryside, and walkers can enjoy the scenery from the miles of footpaths beginning almost from the doorstep.
Accommodation
This property of character which is adjacent the owner's home has accommodation for 4 people and is centrally heated.
On the ground floor is a large fully equipped kitchen / breakfast room with electric oven with grill and hob, dishwasher, fridge / with freezer compartment, washer/dryer and microwave oven.
The comfortable sitting room has a wood burning stove set in a large stone fireplace, colour television with video and DVD player, radio and CD player.
Upstairs comprises a double bedroom, twin bedded room, large landing and bathroom which has a WC, washbasin and bath with electric shower over.
Outside there is an attractive small cottage garden with seating area. Chairs, table and barbecue all supplied for any al fresco meals! Parking for two cars is available outside the cottage.
Our aim is to ensure that our guests at Dower Cottage have a most comfortable and enjoyable holiday, and we start you stay off with a complimentary hamper of goodies which includes a bottle of wine, milk,tea, coffee, butter, bread, new laid eggs from our free range hens, and a jar of home made preserve.
Local Area
The village of Leintwardine has a village shop, post office, petrol station and stores, fish and chip shop, traditional butcher selling home made pies, pasties and sausages, two pubs - The Sun and The Lion, and two restaurants, one at the Lion and the other at The Jolly Frog. (Booking recommended). The village church holds Church of England and Roman Catholic services and a methodist chapel is nearby.
The thriving town of Ludlow is situated approximately 8 miles to the east and is famous for its summer festival of arts, literature and music, it's food festival in the autumn, it's medieval castle and its wealth of wonderful restaurants.
The historic cathedral city of Hereford and the fashionable market town of Shrewsbury are approximately 40 minutes drive in the opposite directions. |
